Cookies & Java Explained

What you need to know about cookies - Some Web sites store information in a small text file, called a “cookie", on your hard disk. Cookies contain information about you and your preferences - in this case, the information contained in the registration form. This information is used when you order products so that you don’t have to re-enter your details every time you order.

Only the information that you provide, or the choices you make while visiting a Web site, can be stored in a cookie. For example, we cannot determine your cell phone number unless you choose to type it. Allowing a Web site to create a cookie does not give that or any other site access to the rest of your computer, and only the site that created the cookie can read it.

Internet Explorer is set up to allow the creation of cookie, however, you can specify that you be prompted before a site puts a cookie on your hard disk, so you can choose to allow or disallow the cookie, or you can prevent Internet Explorer from accepting any cookies. If you are not using Internet Explorer, click the “Help” button on your web browser and type in ‘cookies’ for instructions.

What you need to know about JavaScript - java is a programming language, which we use to create added features such as pop-up menus for ease of use for the user. It’s a nice feature and makes browsing a whole lot more interesting and a whole lot easier.

Most people have enabled JavaScript at some stage – to check if you have, mouse over our products menu option and if you see a sub-menu pop up, Java has been enabled on your PC. If not, you need to enable Java. To do this, simply select Tools on your Web Browser, then Internet Options, then the advanced folder option and tick the relevant Java boxes. If you need help, click on the ‘help’ button on your browser and type in ‘Java’ – the relevant details and instructions to enable Java should be displayed.
